Campaign / Execution Summary
We created the Opel Baby Test Drive, a test drive specially designed for parents-to-be, on a circuit filled with real-life obstacles, with personalized baby dolls simulating the needs of real newborns. Here the couples tested not only the new Opel Crossland X, but also family life on the move with all it implies: songs, cries, laughter, baby bottles, diapers and fun. Because the experience of driving with a baby on board can’t be explained – it has to be lived.
Context / Problem / Opportunity / Insight
CONTEXT
The new Opel Crossland X is an affordable SUV launching in Romania on a market where the competition is brutal. Each player has its own story and each model battles for the attention and interest of the same target group – young, dynamic couples.
CHALLENGE
So, on such a busy market, how can we make the new Opel Crossland X stand out and be relevant for this audience?
IDEA
We looked at our young and dynamic target group through a different angle. Putting demographics aside, we analyzed the people we are talking to from a different perspective – what do they have in common and what are their needs at this specific time in their lives?
They are expecting or planning to have their first child and are unaware of how their lives will look like with a “baby on board”.
The new Crossland X from Opel, a family oriented brand, was the perfect car to offer them a little glimpse of the future and prepare them for what’s to come.
OUTCOME
Future parents learned that even if the Opel Crossland X is prepared for family life, not even the baby button on the board, the extra space in the back, the foldable table, the entertainment console, the 24/7 concierge can actually make a trip with a newborn carefree, but all these options can sure make their lives easier and sometimes fun.
Target Group
Young, dynamic couples, with active lifestyle, a sense of adventure, who want to be true to themselves and still have fun even after they start their own family.
